Some amazing product announcements have come out of the latest Ubiquiti conference. Where to start with all of the new product announcements.
Lets start with AirBeam! AirBeam is a new Rocket M5 Airbeam Paired with a sophisticated beamforming system. The sector is a 90degree sector with a 16degree beamwidth. Each of the 7 energy beams has 24dbi of power. Impresive!
OK next up is the PowerBridge M10. I am really really excited about this product. Well I was. I was hoping for Gig-E port & higher throughput out of this guy as the rumor of a 10Gigahertz product has been floating around for awhile. Well this will still be a great product for those of you that need to escape noisy band condition’s at mid range distances. This product will be advertised as being capable of doing 100+Mbps TCP/IP @ 28Mhz Channel.
Lets move on to AirSync. AirSync promises to combat noisy environments with Synchronized Access Point Frequency Hoping by way of using GPS. I didn’t see any dongle for the current Rockets in any of the images from the conference. However I am sure it is on its way for the RocketM’s It would only make since. This is a feature I have high hopes for. I cant wait to get my hands on it so I may review its capabilities.
Next we have the UniFi this is an enterprise AP system for mass deployment. It looks like it will come in packs of three AP’s with propriatary controll software that will allow one to add an “Unlimited” number of AP’s No specs are available as of writing. This looks to be a very promising product as long as the controller software is top notch.
Lets talk about AirVision for a moment. AirVision looks to be a IP camera system with a central management software package. More details will be avaliable soon I am sure.
Ubiquiti is also addressing the major need of carriers to better protect their AP’s from ESD with a new wire product line called “Tough Cable” The shielded connectors have a hook to wrap the drain wire to. this is a much needed product for all of us! Thank you Ubiquiti.
Moving along we have the 3G Station which will come in three flavors 3G Station, 3G Statoin Pro, & 3G Station Carrier. The differences between the three models is as follows. 3G Station will only accept USB 3G Dongles It is also an indoor only device. The 3G Station Pro has a built in 3G radio & SIM card slot. It is also an indoor device that comes with wall mounting hardware. Finally we have the 3G Station Carrier this is an outdoor model of the Pro with more RF output power & a second Ethernet port. Nice!
Ubiquiti also dropped a morsel of info on their Dual-Pol Omni antennas. No specs were available at the time of writing. I am excited about this for 900 Mhz That will be the bees knees out in the Boone Docks where 900Mhz is quiet.
Let me see here what am I leaving out??? O yeah they are going to be releasing a parabolic reflector for the nanostations too. Not sure of the stats of this coupled with a nanostaion yet. But it should me very nice.
This looks like it was an amazing event. So many new toys to dream about for so many months! I just cant wait to start seeing these products start arriving to the resellers! As I receive more info I will post more images & news about specs, features, & Avaliblity.
